Concept Sunday: Wireless Dual Battery charger

Wireless Dual Battery conceptFor all the technological innovations we have seen in the mobile space in recent years, our batteries still let us down at the most inopportune times far too often. Countless accessories have already tackled this challenge but few deliver a truly satisfactory solution. Packing a spare battery cable and charger is often not a convenient colution either. Enter a new concept meant to solve this once and for all: the Wireless dual battery concept by Sang Hoon Yoon and Hyeji Eom.

At first glance, it simply looks like a compact hockey puck. But the two halves separate into two charging components. Each half can recharge your phone simply by simply plugging it in. There are no cables to worry about and the form factor makes it easy to continue to use your smartphone even as the charger is plugged in. When the first half runs down, simply swap it out with the second.

The illustrations suggest that it is designed for iOS devices with a Lightning connector but there is no reason that it could not come with a micro-USB plug or other adapters for other devices.

For those times when you have the time to sit down, a USB port also lets you charge both smartphone and the Wireless Dual Battery accessory itself.

When not in use, the compact and round design presumably makes it easier to carry around than the more traditional angular spare batteries.

Do you think that the Wireless Dual Battery would be something that you would use? Let us know below.
