LG G3 coming to U.S. with AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile

LG G3LG was less than forthcoming with launch details at the LG G3 launch event. The press release that followed the event only confirmed that the LG G3 would launch first in Korea on May 28 and that a global rollout involving 170 carriers would follow. Carriers are now starting to announce their plans for the latest LG flagship smartphone and among them are at least three of the four major U.S. carriers. AT&T, Sprint Wireless and T-Mobile USA have all put up pages on their website for the LG G3.

AT&T’s page only lists the LG G3 as “coming soon.” It offers the chance to sign up to receive not only a notification of when it will be available but also the usual “latest products and services.”

Sprint’s page lists the LG G3 availability as sometime in July. It also appears that Sprint will be the exclusive U.S. carrier for the Shine Gold version. Those who pre-register with Sprint willl not only be among the first to know when they will be able to pre-order the LG G3 but will also be entered in a contest with a chance to win one of 20 LG G3 smartphones. Interestingly, the contest rules list the value of the smartphone at US$599.99.

As for T-Mobile, those who pre-register will also be entered into a contest to win an LG G3. In this case, they will win an “advance-release Beta model.” The contest will end on June 29, 2014, suggesting that the launch will follow sometime in July. For its part, T-Mobile lists the approximate value of the prizes at US$650.

As for those of us in Canada, nothing has been announced yet but it’s likely that the LG G3 will be offered by at least a couple of carriers.
