LG holding press event on May 27 likely for LG G3 and LG G Watch

May 29, 2014 LG eventA day after confirming that its next flagship smartphone would be known as the LG G3 (to no one’s surprise), LG today began to send out press invitation to its next event. In fact, LG will hold a total of six events across the globe: The first three will take place on May 27 in London, New York and San Francisco. Three more will follow the next day in Istanbul, Seoul and Singapore.

The invitation itself makes no mention of what will be announced but the emphasis on the letter G in the quote “To be simple is to be Great” by Ralph Waldo Emerson as well as the global reach of the event points to it being for none other than the LG G3 and possibly also the LG G Watch.

The LG G3 has been the topic of numerous rumours in the past weeks and months. At this point, it is expected to come with a 5.5-inch WQHD (2560×1440) display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 (or perhaps even 805) processor, a 13MP camera with OIS and personalization features including a concierge-like service capable of offering contextual advice. As we saw again yesterday, it is likely to retain the back buttons that LG first introduced last year with the LG G2.

With the announcement set for late May, the LG G3 should launch sometime in June. Should the LG G Watch make it on stage next month, its launch is still likely to come a bit later.
