Samsung Canada today announced that the Galaxy S5 Active is now available in Canada though multiple carriers. As the name implies, this is a rugged version of the Galaxy S5. With its Mil-STD-810G and IP67 certifications, it is built to withstand threats like salt, dust, humidity, rain, vibration, solar radiation and thermal shocks, making it “the ultimate device for the most demanding environments – from bike trails to the field office.”

The Samsung Galaxy S5 Active also comes with a convenience key on the side to launch apps related to outdoor activities.

In Canada, only the Titanium Gray version will be available. It is available from Bell Mobility and Rogers Wireless. Bell is offering it for CA$279.95 with a two-year contract and CA$699.95 contract-free. Rogers Wireless is offering it for CA$279.99 with a two-year FLEXtab agreement (and should be on its website later today). It will also be carried by select retailers.
