LG is widely expected to jump back into the Windows Phone space in the near future. It now appears that it may follow that up with an entry into the world of Windows tablets as well. It has just filed a new trademark submission for the term “WinTab” with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
As with most trademarks filing, there is very little to go on here. The name alone suggests a Windows tablet of some kind. At this point, a Windows 8 tablet of some kind is the most we can guess at.
As we have seen in the past, trademark filings sometimes happen years ahead of any product release or even lead to nowhere so there is no guarantee at this point that LG will in fact release a Windows tablet.
LG currently offers a range of Android tablets under the LG G Pad brand. Current models Do you think that it will soon be joined by the LG WinTab brand for a similar range of Windows tablets? Let us know below
