Apple announces September 9th event

Apple September 9 2015 eventThe rumours were true. Apple will hold its next event on September 9th, a year to the day that it unveiled the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus. The invitation comes with the tagline “Hey Siri, give us a hint.”

Apple is widely expected to unveil the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus to succeed the current models. Among the expected upgrades are a 12MP rear camera with support for 4K video recording, a stronger case (to avoid a repeat of Bendgate presumably) as well as likely improvements under the hood. A new rose gold colour option could also join the current space gray, white, and gold lineup.

Also on tap could be an updated Apple TV. It is expected to include support for Siri among its enhancements. Apple will also likely provide updates on the upcoming iOS 9 and WatchOS 2 releases. Deatils are likely to include specific release dates.

The September 9th Apple event will take place at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium. With a seating capacity for 7,000, it is a much larger venue than the ones that Apple has traditionally used in the past. If so, this could be one of Apple’s largest press events in a while.

If you own an Apple iPhone or iPad, you might want to ask Siri if she’s got a hint for you or not. Just ask “Siri give me a hint” and see what happens.
