Concept Sunday: HTC One Watch 2015

HTC One Watch 2015 concept

Despite a number of false starts, HTC has not given up on building a smartwatch. Peter Chou confirmed as much back in early March before stepping down as HTC CEO to become the Head of the company’s Future Development Lab. Chou revealed nothing about HTC’s current designs so Hasan Kaymak got to work and came up with a concept for what the HTC One Watch could look like. His HTC One Watch 2015 adopts a classical round design reminiscent of many traditional watches.

Kaymak’s HTC One Watch 2015 vision may not be realized for a few years as it comes with some rather impressive if unrealistic specifications. The 1.5-inch round display offers a 720 pixel resolution. A 1,900mAh battery would certainly solve the issue of short battery life but it’s not clear how such a large battery would fit into the watch. Other details are far more reasonable: Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, Android Wear with HTC watch faces, Bluetooth and NFC.

The smartwatch case is made of polished steel with only a crown at the traditional 3 o’clock position. The wristband appears to be a Nato one but it would presumably also come with options for leather or metal ones.
