Our first glimpse at the TAG Heuer Connected smartwatch

Tag Heuer ConnectedTag Heuer today launched a new website in preparation for the launch of its first smartwatch on November 9th. A countdown reminds us that the launch is only 27 days away as we write this. A tweet announcing the new site has also given us our first look at the new timepiece which should be based on the TAG Heuer Carrera – Heuer 01 unveiled earlier this year. The single image gives us a glimpse at the bezel and crown of the black watch.

It also appears that the first Tag Heuer smartwatch will not be called the Tag Heuer Carrerra Wearable 01 as initially expected but instead the Tag Heuer Connected.

TAG Heuer is pushing the Swiss avant-garde limits even further with the TAG Heuer Connected. Tradition meets innovation, craftsmanship meets savoir-faire, and bold style meets breakthrough technology. The clock is ticking to the major breakthrough.

Few details about the Tag Heuer Connected have been revealed to date. Developed in cooperation with Intel and Google, it will be powered by Android Wear and will likely use a low-power Intel processor. It is also expected to be ugpradeable although Tag Heuer has yet to explain exactly how that will work. We also know that it will offer about 40 hours of battery life. Company CEO Jean-Claude Biver recently revealed that it will sell for about US$1,800 (about CA$2,350).

The Tag Heuer Connected will formally be unveiled on November 9th at the LVMH Tower in New York City. With 27 days to go, Tag Heuer is likely to tease us with a few more details before the main event.
