The Romain Jerome Super Mario Bros. watch commemorates the iconic video game character’s 30th anniversary on the Nintendo Entertainment System. It is the latest in Romain Jerome’s Generational Icons collection.
Nintendo’s legendary character – Mario – is exceptionally dressed in his recognisable red shirt and blue overalls with his famous jump and iconic mushroom. These most symbolic elements of the game are eye-catchingly depicted on the dial and are all captured in the visual style that captivated a generation
The Romain Jerome Super Mario Bros. sports a dial that mimics the 8-bit pixelated look of the original side-scrolling game. Arranged in layers designed to give the dial a 3D look are Mario caught in full leap, a bush, a cloud and one of the iconic mushrooms. Each is finished in enamel. The black background also sports a pixel pattern. It all makes for an eye-catching watch, even if Mario is permanently frozen, something that hardly happens in the game.

The Romain Jerome Super Mario Bros. watch will be limited to 85 pieces in recognition of 1985, the year that the first Super Mario game launched. It sells for US$18,950 (about CA$25,300).
