Samsung teased back at Galaxy Unpacked 2015 that it would formally unveil its round Samsung Gear S2 smartwatch on September 2nd at IFA 2015. It looks like it decided not to wait and today formally announced the much anticipated smartwatch.
The Samsung Gear S2 comes in a versatile, circular design with an intuitive, custom UX and advanced features that enable users to enhance, personalize and bring more fun to their mobile experience.
The Gear S2’s unique rotating bezel, along with the Home and Back buttons, ensures users will have a quicker, more precise method to comfortably access notifications and applications.
The Samsung Gear S2 will be offered in two options, the Gear S2 and the Gear S2 classic. The former, available with dark gray case and dark gray band or silver case and white band, is geared at those “who are on-the-go and have an admiration for minimal and modern design.” The latter offers an elegant Black finish with a matching genuine leather band for those “who prefer a more timeless watch design.”

The Samsung Gear S2 comes with enhanced fitness tracking capabilities. A new 24-hour log lets user review daily activity progress and patterns at a glance. It will also provide reminders to help users stay on track with their fitness goals.
Pricing and availability for the Samsung Gear S2 and Gear S2 classic were not announced today. Both will be on display at IFA 2015.
