Coach Apple Watch straps appear briefly on retailer’s website ahead of announcement

Rumoured Coach strap for Apple WatchRumours that Coach was getting ready to launch a line of Apple Watch straps were effectively confirmed over the past few days. We learned back in April that the U.S. fashion house best known for its leather bags and purses was readying up to nine different bands in different colours and decorations like custom stitching patterns and charms like flowers and stars. A number of these Coach Apple Watch straps were discovered on the company’s website by fashion blog Haute Écriture and 9to5Mac. They have since been removed but it’s clear that Apple will soon have a new fashion partner for its smartwatch.

One of the product listings was for a Apple Watch Leather Strap with Charms. It came in saddle glovetanned leather and was accented with a “pretty, polished charm and a diminutive metal hangtag.” Other listings reveal a “tea rose” model “finished with die-cut leather blooms, each one debossed, printed, edge-painted and affixed by hand with a custom rivet” and a “wild beast camo” strap with a “very beastly camo print on fine-grained calf leather.”

Pricing has not been confirmed but one source revealed that all Coach Apple Watch straps will be priced at US$150 (about CA$200) each. This aligns with previous rumours.

It initially looked like Coach would launch its new Apple Watch straps yesterday but it now looks like the company has decided to hold off until June 12th, the day before WWDC 2016 kicks off. It’s quite possible that Coach will join Apple on stage for the keynote to showcase the latest straps.
