The partnership between IWC Schaffhausen and the Tribeca Film Festival is now in its fourth year. As in past years, IWC is honouring the film festival with the release of a limited edition timepiece. IWC this year unveiled the IWC Portugieser Annual Calendar Edition “Tribeca Film Festival 2016.”
As with last year’s unique Portofino Monopusher Edition “Tribeca Film Festival 2015,” this year’s timepiece comes with a slate dial and Bordeaux-coloured subdials meant to be reminiscent of the streets of Tribeca in New York and the red carpets so intimately tied to the film industry respectively.
At the 12 o’clock mark is the annual calendar which shows the month, date and day in three separate, semicircular windows. The power reserve sub-dial sits at the 3 o’clock position while the small hacking seconds one is found at the 9 o’clock mark.
The grooved bezel, classic railway-track-style chapter ring, slim feuille hands and Arabic numerals are all references to the original Portugieser of 1939.
