Swarovski Smart Watch “for her” to be unveiled at Baselworld 2017

Swarovski Smart Watch teaserCES 2017 kicked off yesterday with the usual frenzy of press releases and new products. Among the many companies holding events, Qualcomm announced the upcoming Snapdragon 835 mobile processor. It also teased that Swarovski will unveil an Android Wear-powered smartwatch at Baselworld 2017.

The teaser video shown during the event reveals only that the Swarovski Smart Watch is designed “for her” and “harnesses the power of the Swarovski heritage and combines it with the industry’s latest innovations.”

Few details were provided about the Swarovski Smart Watch at the event. At this point, we only know that it will run Android Wear 2.0 and be powered by a Qualcomm processor, presumably a Snapdragon Wear one. The watch itself wasn’t shown but it will presumably be adorned with the company’s distinctive crystals.

The Swarovski Smart Watch is the company’s first own wearable. In the past, it had partnered with companies such as Samsung, Misfit and Polar to offer Swarovski editions of other wearable products. The “Swarovski for Samsung” version of the Gear S and Huawei Watch Jewel are but two such examples.

Baselworld 2017 takes place from March 23rd to March 30th 2017.
