MobiTV, a streaming video service, has been available for the Palm OS for a while. Today, MobiTV announced that is now also available for Windows Mobile devices but only in the US so far. Among the channels offered, you will find MSNBC, ABC News Now, CNN, Fox News, Fox Sports, ESPN 3GTV, NBC Mobile, CNBC, The Discovery Channel, TLC and The Weather Channel as well as cartoons, music videos and radio service. MobiTV on the Windows Mobile platform supports full-screen mode, a graphical channel guide and d-pad and touchscreen support.
The streaming takes place over a Wi-Fi connection or a high-speed cellular network like EV-DO. As well, only 5 devices are currently listed as being supported: The Sprint 6700, Cingular 2125 and 8125, the Motorola Q and Palm’s Treo 700w.
MobiTV is available for $9.99 USD per month. A trial version is not currently available.
