The shipping delays that affected the European version of the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 appear to be affecting the U.S. version as well. Back in November, Sony Ericsson announced that the XPERIA X1 would be available in the U.S. as of November 28th. The date has come and gone and the Sony Style web site is now showing an estimated ship date of January 12, 2009.
Best Buy has also updated the online status for the XPERIA X1 from “Pre-Order” to “Coming Soon”. Customers who had already pre-ordered the XPERIA X1 are now apparently getting emails about shipment delays.
The reason for the delays remains unknown. Could the same manufacturing delays that apparently plagued earlier launches still be wrecking havoc with Sony Ericsson’s plans?
