HTC Hero gets FCC approval

HTC Hero

When HTC announced the HTC Hero with its new HTC Sense user interface, we got a nebulous date of sometime later in 2009 for the North American version (In Europe, it will be available this month). While there are still no release details, one important hurdle has been crossed: The HTC Hero has received its FCC certification.

The FCC documents show that the approved device supports the 850 and 1900 MHz, suggesting that AT&T and Rogers are two carriers that could offer it when it comes out.

HTC has requested 180 days of confidentiality starting back on May 29th. If documents are to remain confidential until the end of November, it could be a very late release for the HTC Hero in North America.
