Moto G launches in Canada with TELUS and Koodo

The Moto G, Motorola’s potentially disruptive entry into the lower tiers of the smartphone market, is now available in Canada. As reported, both TELUS Mobility and Koodo are carrying it.

Introducing Moto G, the new Android smartphone from Motorola and Google. Equipped with a 4.5” brilliant HD display, advanced Android operating system, quad-core processor and all day battery, it is designed for all the things you want to do.

Here is a reminder of the Moto G’s specifications:

In Canada, only the 8GB model will be available.

Both TELUS and Koodo will offer an assortment of Motorola Shells, Active Grips and Flip shells to customize the Moto G. Other accessories including headphones will also be available.

The Moto G strikes the right balance between price and specifications. While only the 8GB model will be available in Canada, it will sell for the low price of CA$200 outright (yes, outright!) or free on a two-year contract from TELUS and CA$50 with Koodo’s Tab . For that price, you get a smartphone with more than decent specifications and, perhaps more compelling, a guaranteed upgrade to Android 4.4 KitKat.

The Moto G is also available from a number of retailers including Black’s, Best Buy, Future Shop and The Mobile Shop.
