Motorola planning 6.3-inch phablet and DROID Ultra followup?

It looks like details about some of Motorola’s next devices are starting to emerge. While many expect the Motorola DVX, a cheaper variant of the Moto X to be its next device, it now looks like a DROID Ultra followup as well as a 6.3-inch phablet are also in the pipeline.

Set to succeed the DROID Ultra launched by Verizon this summer could be the Motorola DROID Quantum. It is also planning a device currently known as the Motorola Xplay which would sport a 6.3-inch display (nearly as big as the 6.4-inch display found on the Sony Xperia Z Ultra).

Initial details were first posted by a Weibo user described by G for Games as both “trusted” and “proven to be quite accurate, especially when talking about Motorola’s products.”

Little is known about either device but both should launch sometime in 2014. It’s likely that the Motorola Xplay could launch first as the current Verizon DROID lineup is still relatively new.

We’ll have to see how this rumour develops over the coming weeks and months.
