Android 4.4.3 update rolling out to GPe devices

Android KitKat statueFollowing the start of Android 4.4.3 upgrade rollouts for the Google Nexus and Motorola Moto line of devices, you can also add Google Play edition devices to the list receiving the update. Reports are coming in that the Android 4.4.3 update has already popped up for the HTC One (M8) GPe, HTC One (M7) GPe, Sony Z Ultra GPe and Samsung Galaxy S4 GPe.

Android 4.4.3 is not a large update but the speed at which the update is now rolling out is a welcome surprise. Among the changes it includes are an updated dialer with a new interface, a number of stability, framework and security fixes and some enhancements to the power profile capabilities. It is also expected to be the last point update before Google unveils a more important update at Google I/O 2014 later this month.

If a notification has yet to pop up for you, you can check manually to see if the update is available to you by selecting Settings -> About phone -> System Updates -> Check now on your Moto smartphone. With staggered rollouts, it does not mean that you will immediately see the update appear though. You may have to try to be patient (like we are here with a number of devices).

Drop us a note below if you have received your Android 4.4.3 update.
