Not everyone will be able to afford an Apple Watch Edition which will start at US$10,000 (CA$13,000) and run as high as US$17,000 (CA$22,000). Many will not be able to even afford the entry level Apple Watch Sport which will start at US$349 (CA$449). Fortunately, Conan O’Brien has come up with a budget-friendly alternative. He introduced the Apple Pocketwatch earlier this week on his show. “All the functions of the Apple Watch, all the quality of an Apple product, for much less.”
Better yet, the Apple Pocketwatch should be more readily available than the Apple Watch. All you need to do is mail your iPhone and the US$259 to Apple will return to you a Pocketwatch. As Apple explains, “It’s more than a binder clip and a wallet chain, it’s US$259”
All kidding aside, one has to wonder how much longer before someone takes a stab at developing a smart pocketwatch for real.
