You will likely bump into more than one Rolling Stones fan at Only Watch 2015, the upcoming auction of unique watches that will raise funds for the benefit of the Monaco Association Against Muscular Dystrophy. While they may have their eyes on any of the more than one of the 40 watches that will be offered that day, one in particular will have likely caught their eye. Zenith’s contribution to the auction is the El Primero Striking 10th Lightweight Tribute to the Rolling Stones.
Zenith’s El Primero Lightweight line is known for its El Primero 4052 W Striking 10th automatic movement which beats at the frequency of 36,000 vibrations per hour and is accurate to the nearest tenth of a second as well. It also features a partially skeletonized dial where some portions have been opened up to give a glimpse of the movement.
Zenith has added a number of Rolling Stones-inspired touches to this unique edition. The rubber strap, with a black Barenia calfskin insert, features and Rolling Stones red tongue logo and Union Jack flag. The hours and minutes hand are inspired by the fretboard on Keith Richards’ Fender Telecaster guitar. The Rolling Stones logo also appears on the oscillating weight visible through the transparent case back. There’s a little Rolling Stones reminder no matter how you look at the watch.
