Bell & Ross is kicking off 2016 with new additions to its BR 03 watch collection. The new Bell & Ross BR 03 Desert Type is designed to meet the specifications of air forces operating in warm countries while retaining the four fundamental principles of Bell & Ross: legibility, functionality, precision and water resistance. Three new models are available: The BR 03-92, BR 03-94 Chronograph and the smaller BR S. True to their name, all three are sand coloured, “just like the outfits worn by pilots on desert missions.”
All three models share the same black square ceramic case with distinctive screws in the corners of the case. They also sport a sandwich dial that consists of two overlapping layers. The top one is cut away around the numerals and indices to reveal the black photoluminescent coating covering the lower insert. The contrast between black and sand-coloured top layer provides both optimal reading during the daytime as well as night thanks to its photoluminescent coating.
The BR 03-92 is your basic 3-hander with date complication. The BR 03-94 adds small seconds and 30-minute counter sub-dials at the 3 and 9 o’clock positions respectively. The BR S Desert Type is slightly smaller with a 39 millimeter case and a small seconds sub-dial at the 6 o’clock mark.
