Pebble today announced the release of new firmware for its Pebble watches. As the company puts it, Pebble Firmware 3.9 comes with “something special for every smartwatch in the Pebble family.”
Pebble Health, which was introduced just before Christmas with Firmware 3.8, has been improved with a number of new features. A new API will allow developers to show health stats in apps and on new watch faces. Now more accurate, it also allows distance to be shown in kilometers.
The Watch-Only mode that kicks in when the battery gets critically low has been improved with a new look and promises to keep your Pebble going for “a few more hours.”
Along with the new firmware, Pebble has also released updated apps for both Android and iOS. Android users can now reply to incoming calls with an SMS and can also start conversations with a voice note, emoji, or custom message right from their Time-series watch. On the iOS side, it is now possible to send custom responses to received Messages.
To update your Pebble Time to the latest firmware, simply Select Menu > Support > Update Your Pebble within your Pebble Time app.

Pebble Time Firmware 3.9 Release Notes
