Today, Pretec announced what it calls the the largest capacity MMC card, and the fastest flash memory card in the world. Compared to its 133X 4GB SD card (access speeds up to 20MB/s), the new 4GB MCC Plus 266X offers access speeds up to 40MB/s. Pretec 4GB MMC Plus can be configured to be fully compliant with MMC 4.1 specification under traditional “Byte Addressing”; or alternatively Pretec 4GB MMC Plus can be configured under “Sector Addressing” scheme.
Mass production is expected to begin in Q4 2005 and the card is expected to sell for $699 USD.
