About the site
Back in 2003, I helped Marc Boudreau launch the now defunct www.iPAQabilities.com, a site focused on HP’s PDAs. My role was to design the site and add new features (example, deploying the forums). Over time, I got involved with first writing some reviews and then daily news coverage. Much to my surprise, I found that I enjoyed it! Gadgetorama.com and later EyeOnMobility are the result of my desire to cover more news and gadgets than just iPAQs.
Marc and I had talked about expanding coverage over at iPAQabilities.com but with him so busy, I decided to strike off on my own. And so, on January 5, 2005, Gadgetorama launched officially. Its mandate focused on mobile devices. This initially included mostly smartphones but grew to include tablets and even some laptop news as well as various accessories.
In 2013, while writing for another site briefly, I finally decided to rebrand and give the site a makeover. I simply wanted a name that was more representative of the website. And so was born EyeOnMobility.com.
In early 2015, I decided to focus more on wearables and smartwatches in particular. I’ll also cover some news about traditional watches, especially as they begin to enter the smartwatch space as well.
Enjoy the site!
