HP stops Expansys from selling non-European iPAQs

Expansys, based in Manchester, has been ordered by British courts to stop importing and reselling HP iPAQs from outside Europe. HP claimed that the practice infringed on its trademarks. This is not the first time that HP has cracked down on the practice of grey marketing (essentially selling a product in a region other than the one it was sold in).

A very similar verdict was reached today as well in a case where Sony was trying to stop a UK company from selling the PlayStation Portable there. Like HP, Sony claimed that its trademarks were being violated by these actions.
