iTunes now available in Australia

Apple

There were a few false starts but iTunes has now arrived in Australia, making it the 21st store to launch. Songs are priced at $1.69 AUD, videos at $3.39 AUD and most albums are 16.99 AUD, including GST. Expect to find exclusive tracks from a number of Australian artists, including Missy Higgins and Gyroscope.

One notable omission is the Sony BMC catalog which represents about 25 percent of all commercially available music. At least part of the reason may be that Sony BMG has its own online music store in Australia.
