When Windows Mobile 2003 came out in the spring of 2003, it was accompanied by a flurry of new Pocket PCs. Brighthand called it the “Summer of Pocket PC.”
But Brighthand does not expect a repeat this year. Summer is traditionally a slow season in the computer industry. The same forces that aligned two years ago to give us the flurry of emails have not aligned the same way this year. Instead, expect things to pick up in late summer when the Windows Mobile 5.0 upgrade hits.
Look at the bright side: Less news means more time to enjoy the sun and the warmth (especially here in Canada where summer is so short)!
