As expected, Palm confirmed that it had licensed the Microsoft Windows Mobile operating system for an expanded line of Treo smartphones. The first Treo Smartphone will be available on Verizon Wireless’ 3G wireless broadband network and will be powered by Windows Mobile 5.0.
The press release makes no specific mention of the Treo 700w but indicates that the first WM5.0 Treo will be released in early 2006.
