Phillips is about to unveil a prototype ebook reader that features a roll-out screen. The 5-inch screen features a 320×240 resolution with 4 grey levels. Using a bi-stable electrophoretic display effect from E Ink Corp., the display consumes little power and is easy to read, even in bright daylight. Roll the screen back and the device measures only 100 mm x 60 mm x 20 mm.
The Readius is not ready for commercialization at this time.
