Imagine that you just got a ticket for speeding along Dubai’s highways (Just humour me for a second). Your infraction was caught on film by one of the many speed camera that line the highways. You think back on the fateful day and realize that the bright orange camera was actually sponsored by a commercial company. HP in this case. How inclined would you be to buy an HP product knowing that they were, at least in part, to thank for your recent ticket? Yeah, I thought so.
If HP wanted to be the talk of the town, it sounds like it has succeeded. And if that old adage that any press is good, well, HP succeeded again.
HP feels that sponsoring the speed cameras is just being a good corporate citizen and doing its part to reduce accidents on highways with one of the world’s highest accident rates per capita.
