802.11n Wi-Fi standard draft approved

Current Wi-Fi speeds not fast enough for you? How does 600 Mpbs sound to you? The IEEE Task Group “N” has approved the first draft of the 802.11n Wi-Fi specification. The draft must now undergo ratification by the IEEE.

802.11n Wi-Fi will support speeds of up to 600 Mpbs (in the current draft at least) and will deliver greater range than existing systems.

The final standard should be ratified sometime next year with first products to follow after that.
