E-TEN goes thin with glofiish X500 Windows Mobile phone

Thin continues to be the in thing as E-TEN announces the glofiish X500, a quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE Pocket PC Phone that also includes GPS and Wi-Fi in a design that is only 15.5 mm thick (about 0.6 inches). Powered by a 400MHz Samsung processor and Windows Mobile 5.0, it comes with a 2.8-inch QVGA screen, 64MB ROM and 128MB ROM, GPS using the SiRFStar III chipset, 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0, a 2MP camera, an internal antenna and a microSD slot.

The glofiish X500 will launch in November 2006.

E-TEN’s glofiish brand is its new consumer branding and will represent the core features of this product line: inspiration, versatility, and commitment. Their press release explains that just as a fish has complete freedom of movement in the water, Glofiish Pocket PC Phones allow users to effortlessly roam the world of high-speed communications giving them instant access to voice and data calling, messaging and email, networking, the internet and more. Plus, just as oceans cover most of the world’s surface, Glofiish Pocket PC Phones support worldwide standards, including GSM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. Furthermore, the two i’s in the name represent the pairing of users and their Glofiish Pocket PC Phones. Sure, if you say so.
