In August, it was announced that E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) would become an invite-only event called the E3 Interactive Media Festival. Fortunately for all gamers there is a successor on the horizon. IDG, the parent company of GamePro magazine, has announced plans to launch its own consumer video game conference next October. The event will be called GamePro Expo and is expected to play host to some 30,000 visitors at the Los Angeles Convention Center between October 18 and 20 2007.
The new event promises to be a trade show, offer activities geared specifically to consumers and feature live game competitions.
