HTC-branded products coming

HTC TyTN

As widely expected, HTC will begin to use it own brand name on upcoming products. The first products to bear the HTC name will be a tri-band 3G Windows Mobile Pocket PC called TyTN and a 3G Windows Mobile Smartphone called MTeoR (When will this trend of products with missing vowels end?). The TyTN is the offical name of the HTC Hermes and the HTC MTeoR was known as the HTC Breeze during development.

The HTC TyTN will be powered by a Samsung ARM CPU with 400 MHz and Windows Mobile 5.0 with AKU 2 and come with quad-band and UMTS capabitities, 128 MB ROM and 64 MB RAM, a 2MP camera on the back and QCIF camera on the front (for video telephony), Bluetooth 2.0, 802.11 g Wi-Fi, a microSD slot and a QVGA screen.

The HTC MTeoR is a 3G Windows Mobile 5.0 Smartphone (with MSFP) that will come with a 2.2-inch screen and a 1.3MP camera. It will measure 112.4 x 49 x 14.8mm and weigh 120g.

HTC has indicated that it will continue to support its operator-branded products and OEM partners as a key priority.

Both devices will be released in Europe in late July. Pricing information was not provided.
