The rumours of Dell’s exit from the PDA market continue to gather steam! Chris Leckness over at Aximsite reports that Dell is indeed putting an end to the Axim line of PDAs. The evidence comes from a DL.TV show aired on April 11 where someone a Dell employee revealed that Dell will stop PDA development and manufacture.
What is less clear is what Dell’s future intentions are: Could we see a complete withdrawal from PDAs and other mobile devices, a new focus on converged devices (as HP is undergoing), a new line of UMPC devices or simply refocus on core products, including notebooks and servers?
Meanwhile, even if the rumours turn out to be true, don’t expect Aximsite to disappear any time soon!
