A new PDA blog called PDA-NEWS.de is reporting that Microsoft may be considering adding VoIP to the Windows Mobile OS, according to a source we tend to trust quite a bit. The new tool would work through a Wi-Fi connection and would use the SIP-protocol.
This rumour is backed up by comments made by Clinton Fitch in a Pocket PC Thoughts forum thread on this topic. The idea was first discussed during Mobius in December 2005.
One point of interest will be to see how wireless carriers will react and how Microsoft will respond.
