MuchMusic launches its music download site

Another day, another music download site. MuchMusic, the Canadian version of MTV, announced that it has partnered with Puretracks Inc. to offer its new online store. The site uses Microsoft’s PlaysForSure technology.

The site already features over a million songs both from major as well independent music labels and will feature exclusive content created by musicians and MuchMusic VJs. Track featured on shows like Vibe, Loud and The Wedge will be available from the store as well. Prices range from $0.79 CAD to $1.29 CAD per song.

MuchMusic.com will also sell ringtones and music videos.

MuchMusic is celebrating the launch with an exclusive offer of an acoustic version of Call Me When You’re Sober by Evanescence for those who purchase the new album.
