NAVIGON withdraws from North America

NAVIGON, makers of OnCourse Navigator have announced that they will stop selling their PDA products in North America, effective immediately. NAVIGON had entered the US market only a year and a half ago. Although technical support will continue until July 1, 2007, NAVIGON will also stop providing new maps.

NAVIGON is withdrawing for the following reason: The market landscape of navigation products is changing rapidly. The PDA market is shifting swiftly toward a new generation of wireless devices such as smart and cell phones. Like other technology companies, NAVIGON is shifting focus toward new and emerging technologies and applications.
