New Palm handhelds coming?

Palm

Brighthand’s Ed Hardy has looked into his crystal ball and is predicting that Palm will release some new traditional handhelds later this year. It sounds like Ed may know more than he can reveal but he only reveals that any new device will probably run Palm OS Garnet but will feature more built-in storage. A little more specifically, Ed sees a LifeDrive2 (bigger built-in hard drive but not much else), a next generation Palm TX (with up to 1GB of internal storage) and possibly a new entry-level device.

Palm is planning a press conference on October 12 at the DigitalLife show. Could this be the event where these devices would be announced? We’ll find out soon enough.
