Engadget is reporting that rather than a Palm OS-based Treo 700p model, the next Palm device will be an entirely new device called the 800p. According to a user who apparently saw the new device, it will be a little bit smaller and slimmer than the 650 and with come with 128MB RAM, EV-DO, Bluetooth, a Wi-Fi “option”, an SD slot, an enhanced 320 x 320 display and a 3.2MP camera. No information is available as to which version of the Palm OS would power the 800p.
It is expected to sell for less than $600 USD. It is expected on March 15th.
