Convergence is not only happening to devices. For example, we have already seen SD cards with a USB connector and SD storage cards with Wi-Fi capabilities. Today, Samsung unveiled a subscriber identity module (SIM) card that also packs 1GB of NAND flash memory. With the increasing multimedia content on our mobile phones (pictures, music, email, etc), any additional storage will always be welcome. And if we can do so while eliminating the need for yet another card, even better.
The new card was unveiled at the Cartes 2006 show in France.
