Brighthand is predicting that the iPAQ hx4700 has been retired by HP. It is no longer available on the HP US web site (and others). It suggests two reasons for this prediction. First is the problems that HP seems to be having in delivering a Windows Mobile 5.0 upgrade (currently expected April 1). Second is HP’s move from traditional PDAs towards converged devices like Smartphones and PDAs that offer wireless connectivity.
I have not heard anything through the rumour mill that suggests that Brightand is wrong.
