Bell Canada has announced the HTC 5800 smartphone. Like the more powerful HTC 6800 also offered by Bell, the HTC 5800 operates on Microsoft Windows Mobile 6, offering clients mobile access to Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook Mobile applications.
The Bell HTC 5800 is powered by a 400MHz Qualcomm processor and Windows Mobile 6 Standard. It comes with a 2.4-inch QVGA display, 64MB RAM and 128MB ROM, dual-band EV-DO (Rev.A capable with future software update), a sliding QWERTY keyboard, a 2MP camera, Bluetooth 2.0, and a MicroSD slot. It looks much like the HTC S710 but lacks the latter’s Wi-Fi capabilities.
Available now, prices range from CDN$149.95 with a three-year service plan to CDN$449.95 without a contract.
