Free Metro gets another update

I’ve profiled Métro, the free application that provides information about public transit systems in over 250 worldwide cities, on Gadgetorama in the past. It provides useful tools such as instructions on how to get to a particular location using either the fewest connections or the shortest route, a list of interesting places to visit at each station and more.

Version 5.5.0 came out earlier this month and adds Miskolc in Hungary and updates Berlin, Budapest, Lausanne, Los Angeles, Paris, Pau, San Francisco, Tours, Valencia, Vienna, Beijing, Braunschweig, Chicago, Frankfurt, and Montréal among others. It also comes with minor bug fixes.

Métro works on the Windows Mobile platform (including WM5.0 and square screen devices), PalmOS devices and Symbian (UIQ, S60, S80, S90) devices.

Métro continues to be available as a free download.
