House renovations stop the Gadgetorama presses

Gadgetorama headquarters were the scene of the start of another round of renovations as my wife and I get ready ready to welcome another little one into the family. This weekend, it was time to start working on the new baby’s room.

Living in a house that is over 100 years old does mean plenty of work. The original plaster (with horse hair as was done back then) had to be pulled down so that we can insulate the walls. Yes, insulation was not used back then. If you look at our outside walls, they are made of a double layer of bricks with lathe and plaster right over that (Canadians were a much hardier sort back then). The ceiling was a particularly fun job with both plaster and drywall that had to be pulled down.

So that’s where I have been the last two days. Regular news coverage is about to restart now…
