HTC at the GITEX tradeshow

HTC is at the GITEX show running in Dubai until September 12th. At the booth, you can see all the devices that it has introduced in the region this year, including the Advantage X7500, S710, P3400 and the HTC Touch. It also unveiled the HTC TyTN II and the HTC Shift at the show.

The HTC TyTN II is powered by a 400MHz Qualcomm processor and Windows Mobile 6 Professional. It features a 2.8-inch QVGA touchscreen display that slides and tilts back to reveal a full QWERTY keyboard, 128MB RAM and 256MB ROM, quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and tri-band UMTS/HSDPA, 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0, integrated GPS with Tom Tom Navigator 6 Taster Edition, both a 3MP camera and front-facing VGA camera, and a microSD slot. It also comes with HTC Home, HTC’s new homescreen application offering easy access to photo dialing, text messages, calendar entries, emails and contacts, as well as one touch access to live weather conditions plus four-day forecasts and a business card scanner application.

The HTC Shift is set to deliver the ultimate experience by combining innovative designs with powerful functionality and connectivity bringing the full power of Windows Vista and advanced wireless connectivity into an innovative and compact design that is sure to create a new paradigm for mobile computing. It will be powered by a 1.2GHz processor and Windows Vista Business and will have a 7-inch widescreen touch display, 40GB hard drive, 1GB RAM, quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and tri-band UMTS/HSDPA connectivity, a QWERTY keyboard, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.0 and fingerprint recognition. As reported earlier, it will not come with Windows Mobile.

HTC is also planning to grow its presence in the Middle East region and has opened an office in Dubai. This office will also oversee sales in Africa as well as Central and Eastern Europe as well.
