More evidence of European iPhone announcement next week (Updated)

Gizmodo is reporting that two very reliable sources have confirmed that the September 18th Apple announcement will announce the arrival of the iPhone to the United Kingdom. Furthermore, the iPhone could be available as soon as mid-October rather than November 1st.

Meanwhile, Reuters is reporting that Deutsche Telekom has signed with Apple to offer the iPhone in Germany. The price is expected to be €399 (about US$550 or CAD$570). It’s not clear though if Apple will announce the release of the German iPhone at next week’s event.

Update: Think Secret’s sources have indicated that the UK iPhone will not be available until November 12. It also confirms that it will not come with 3G capabilities but that a 3G iPhone could be out as early as February 2008. Meanwhile, the French iPhone announcement is expected at a similar media event a week later while the German media event still does not have a date.
