When I checked iTunes Canada last night, there were still no TV shows and I prepared myself to chalk up yesterday’s news to yet another rumour that fizzled out. I decided to check again this morning and lo and behold, TV shows have finally made their debut in Canada.
As expected, the catalog of shows is not huge right now. So far, there is content from the CBC, Comedy Central, CTV and the NHL.
From the CBC, you get four shows, including Little Mosque on the Prairie and the Rick Mercer Report. Comedy Central is offering 3 shows, including season 11 of South Park. There are also four shows from CTV, including Corner Gas, Degrassi: The Next Generation and Robson Arms. Sports fans can choose from five classic NHL Stanley Cup games (none newer than 1997 though altough games from the 2007-2008 season are also expected).
Individual episodes are available for CAD$1.99 and are also available in season packs.
