Amazon MP3 opens first international store

It was almost a year ago that Amazon announced plans to expand its Amazon MP3 service to other countries. But it only became a reality earlier this month when Amazon launched its UK Amazon MP3 service.

Amazon MP3 has all the convenience, choice and value that customers have come to expect from Amazon.co.uk. Using the ‘Amazon Downloader’, customers can automatically transfer DRM-free songs in a matter of seconds to their computer or music libraries such as iTunes and Windows Media Player.

The UK version of Amazon MP3 launched with some 3 million songs, all in DRM-free MP3 format and a large number of best-selling albums selling for about £3.

You can find the UK Amazon MP3 store at http://mp3.amazon.co.uk.

It’s not clear whether Amazon will launch its MP3 store in other countries before the end of the year.
